FAQs

Please read our full FAQs page to find out more.

Are the acrylic links structural, and how much does the chain weigh?

The acrylic links are decorative; the electrical cord supports the socket and bulb. Their weight must still be included when planning the canopy and mounting hardware. A 30-inch pendant with nine links, socket, and bulb weighs about 2.2 lb. As a rough estimate, a 6–10 ft pendant may weigh approximately 5–9 lb.

How do I calculate the finished length of acrylic chain?

Although each acrylic link is approximately 4 inches long, the links overlap when connected. Five assembled links create approximately 13 inches of hanging chain, or about 2.6 inches of finished length per link.

For planning purposes:

  • 10 links = approximately 26 inches
  • 20 links = approximately 52 inches
  • 30 links = approximately 78 inches
  • 40 links = approximately 104 inches

Can acrylic links be used with different chandelier styles?

Yes. Acrylic chain can be incorporated into single pendants, swag chandeliers, multi-light fixtures, cascading chandeliers, and custom installations.

How large are the acrylic links?

Each acrylic link is approximately 4 inches long, 3 inches wide, and ¾ inch thick, with an interior opening measuring roughly 2½ inches long by 1½ inches wide.

Can I mix acrylic-link colors on one chandelier?

Yes. Multiple link colors can be combined on the same fixture. Contact us before ordering to discuss a custom color mix, pattern, or arrangement.

Are acrylic links the same as glass links?

No. Acrylic links offer a similar colorful, light-catching appearance, but they are not glass. Acrylic is lighter and less fragile, making it especially well suited to oversized links, long chain drops, and large statement chandeliers.

Do acrylic chain links look like plastic?

These links are designed as a decorative lighting material rather than ordinary utility chain. Their oversized proportions, smooth surfaces, translucent colors, and interaction with light create a sculptural, jewelry-like effect.

Are acrylic links lighter than glass links?

Acrylic is naturally less dense than glass, so a similarly sized acrylic link will generally weigh substantially less than a glass link. This makes acrylic especially well suited to oversized, chunky chain designs while still creating a bold sculptural look.
